Chilling climate revelations from a previous ice age

Chilling climate revelations from a previous ice age

About 14,000 years ago, the southwest United States was lush and green, home to saber-toothed cats and mammoths. Meanwhile, the Pacific Northwest was mostly grassland.

That all changed as the last ice age was ending. Climate changes might be expected with the melt of a global freeze, but what’s surprising is how quickly climate and rainfall patterns changed. According to research published Nov. 22, the collapse of an ice sheet in what is now western Canada triggered a reorganization of the jet stream over the course of about 100 years — a blink of an eye in geological time.

Leaky vaccine, leaky vaccines

The term does appear, on exactly one page, the one about

Marek's disease

"The Marek's disease vaccine is a "leaky vaccine", which means that only the symptoms of the disease are prevented.[12] Infection of the host and the transmission of the virus are not inhibited by the vaccine."

Which is odd since a leaky vaccine is such an important thing, and potentially a very dangerous thing.

Imperfect Vaccination Can Enhance the Transmission of Highly Virulent Pathogens

‘Leaky’ Vaccines Can Produce Stronger Versions of Viruses

Many livestock and human vaccines are leaky because they block symptoms but do not prevent infection or onward transmission. This leakiness is concerning because it increases vaccination coverage required to prevent disease spread and can promote evolution of increased pathogen virulence

Snow ratio (not found on Wikipedia) updated Nov 29 2023

Snow ratio, not found on Wikipedia. It's the ratio that depends on the air temperature, that means the colder it is, the more snow there is from the amount of precipitation/

Colder temperatures create more snow from the same amount of liquid water.

A very important thing to know in meteorology, or snow science.  Does not appear on Wikipedia.  (this is actually a huge failing, just huge)

You might think it would be in the snow science page

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snow_science

Nope.  Also can't be found searching wikipedia.

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?search=snow+ratio&title=Special%3ASearch&go=Go&ns0=1

Or using Google to search Wikipedia

Isn't that something?

Trenberth's travesty

 Not found on Wikipeida

A phrase coined in regards to statements in an email from 2009 by Kevin Trenberth

Well I have my own article on where the heck is global warming? We are asking that here in Boulder where we have broken records the past two days for the coldest days on record. We had 4 inches of snow. The high the last 2 days was below 30F and the normal is 69F, and it smashed the previous records for these days by 10F. The low was about 18F and also a record low, well below the previous record low”¦.

The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment, and it is a travesty that we can’t.

How fish arrive in a body of water

 Duck poop.

That's the short answer.  Bulgarian scientist proved this with an experiment.

Fish eggs can hatch even after being eaten and excreted by ducks

Chad Guy Daybell and Lori Vallow Daybell and Bernhard Goetz

Unlike John Wayne Gacy, or Theodore Robert Bundy, some killers are not allowed to have a Wikipedia entry.

So Chad Guy Daybell, and Lori Vallow Daybell, and Bernhard Goetz don't have an entry. No, this is not a joke.  And you can't make an entry for them, even if you think this is absurd.

If you try and find out info on these missing persons you get redirected to a page, but no bio of the people.  This seems to be an unofficial policy by the woke who are always on Wikipedia, making sure nobody makes an article about these people.

Bernhard Goetz AKA "the subway vigilante", is a famous person, who is still alive, but no article allowed.  Don't ask me to explain this.

Einstein’s theory of general relativity

 Einstein’s theory of general relativity

Not found on Wikipedia!

Nor is geometric theory of gravitation!

Just kidding, they are there, but no redirect to get to the right page.

The Christ Family (cult) update

Found this mention in a story from Waco about the Branch Davidians (while the crisis was ongoing)

Jesse Amen, a California man who slipped past law officers and entered the compound March 26, was being held in McLennan County jail Monday on a charge of interfering with the duty of a police officer. He also is being held without bond as a material witness, a jail spokeswoman said.

Goes on to mention the cult and more. Archive.org version (support archive.org)

Swensen said 40-year-old Amen told authorities his father’s name is Lord Lightning Amen. He said he has brothers named David, Jacob and Abraham.

Whether Lord Lightning Amen is the 40-year-old man’s father is uncertain, but the Press-Enterprise in Riverside, Calif. say a man who goes by Lightning Amen was a one-time cult leader convicted of possession and transportation of methamphetamines.

Toil not - Christ Family members arrived and were quickly asked to move on in the second week of July 1981. The founder of the group was a man named Charles Franklin McHugh who wandered out of the California desert one day and dubbed himself Jesus Christ Lightning Amen.

How to update saved data using Archive.org

 Something not found on Wikipedia

I just archived a blog entry, and most of the sources used.

If something is not found on archive.org, it's easy to save it.  But what about updating a changed page?  Not found on Wikipedia.

Antev’s Altithermal (the climate period discovered and named by Ernst Valdemar Antevs)

This one is a little hard to believe, but not only is there no entry, the redirect for Altithermal doesn't mention Antevs at all.

And of course no mention of the period named for him on Antevs page

This one is pretty easy because many good sources exist online.

In 1948, Antevs published the 3-part Neothermal Climatic Sequence based on the Great Basin lake histories and on Great Basin arroyo geomorphology. This chronology preceded Libby's radiocarbon dating, and was based on Swedish Varve Chronology. The term "Altithermal" remains a central feature in Southwestern archaeological chronologies.

  • Medithermal 0 - 4500
  • Altithermal (hot-dry) 4500 - 7000
  • Anathermal 7000 - 10,150

The 2007-2009 Kumburgaz Turkey UFO videos (and surrounding events)

This one is not only NOT on Wikipedia, it probably can't be found there.  Ever.  And unlike most entries here, this one is certainly reasonable to leave out of an online database of pretty much everything notable.

Because nobody, and I mean nobody who has posted anything online, knows what is the truth about it.

No blog or forum seems to have an answer

http://turkeyufocase.blogspot.com/

http://brainexplor.blogspot.com/2015/11/the-turkey-ufo-alien-case.html

Even the debunking of it isn't satisfying.

https://www.metabunk.org/threads/2008-ufo-footage-from-turkey.9844/page-5

The claims run from total bunk, fraud, a clever scam, to actual video of aliens in a flying saucer of some sort.

For someone like myself, not knowing is mildly irritating.  After 14 years it seems we may never know what it was, how it was done, or anything else.

The Grindelwald Fluctuation

Four hundred years ago, England experienced some of its worst weather ever. In the depths of the Little Ice Age (1300-1800), huge volcanic eruptions in the Americas pushed dust and gases high into the atmosphere, blocking out the sun. The related cooling phase is known as the "Grindelwald Fluctuation' (1560-1630).
